A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF McCALL, IDAHO,
RELATING TO THE SITE PLAN FOR THE NEW POST OFFICE IN McCALL
WHEREAS:
1. The United States Postal Service is designing a new Post Office for McCall;
2. In discussions over many months with the City, including a joint site selection
process, the USPS repeatedly stressed the need to have its entire parking lot
exposed to winter sun, and promised to consult with the City in the design of the
building and site;
3. The presently proposed site plan shows the parking on the north side of the
building; and
4. The persons responsible for this design are not immediately apparent,
BE IT RESOLVED by the Mayor and Council of the City of McCall that:
Section 1. The City of McCall urge the USPS, the J. R. Simplot Company, and [White -
Leasure], as their interests and roles may be, so to redesign the site as to have the
public parking on the west side of the structure.
Section 2. The City of McCall urge the USPS, the J. R. Simplot Company, and [White -
Leasure], as their interests and roles may be, to design the structure in keeping
with the character of McCall and the adjacent Marketplace, with natural materials,
log accents, and earthtone colors.
Section 3.. The City of McCall urge the USPS, the J. R. Simplot Company, and [White -
Leasure], as their interests and roles may be, to submit the plans for the
improvements to the City Engineer for review and comment at the 10%, 50%, and
90% stages of development, and that City comments on such occasions be
accepted and implemented.
