A RESOLUTION OF THE REDEVELOPMENT AGENCY OF THE CITY OF
LYNWOOD APPROVING THE UTILIZATION OF THE PURCHASE AND
REHABILITATION PROGRAM TO ACQUIRE THE ABANDONED PROPERTY
LOCATED AT 11434 STATE STREET FROM THE DEPARTMENT OF HOUSING AND
URBAN DEVELOPMENT.
WHEREAS, The Redevelopment Agency has established a Purchase and Rehabilitation
program for the purpose of acquiring abandoned homes, rehabilitating the structures and selling
the homes to low and moderate income families; and,
WHEREAS, The Agency, approved a $700,000 program budget utilizing the HOME
Investment Partnership Program as the funding source; and,
WHEREAS, The Property located at 11434 State Street is an abandoned, boarded up
structure, that is in violation of the Health and Safety Codes established by the City of Lynwood;
and,
WHEREAS, The acquisition of this property will allow the Agency the opportunity to
reach the established housing goals of removing blight and providing affordable housing
opportunities identified in the Redevelopment Agency's Plan and the City of Lynwoods
approved Consolidated Plan; and,
WHEREAS, The Agency will direct the Executive Director to execute the necessary
documents securing the acquisition of the property.
NOW, THEREFORE, The Redevelopment Agency does hereby resolve as follows:
Section 1. That the Redevelopment Agency approve the use of the Purchase and Rehabilitation
Program to acquire the property located at 1 1434 State Street from the Department of Housing
and Urban Development.
Section 2. That the Executive Director or his designee is authorized prepare and execute the
necessary documents to secure the acquisition of the property.
