New Exhibit at Leesburg Town Exhibit Hall Will Feature
Artwork by Monroe Technology Center Students
Artists reception scheduled for Friday, December 6, 2013
Leesburg, VA (December 2, 2013) – The
next installment at the Leesburg Town
Exhibit Hall will feature work from graphic
communication students from Monroe
Technology Center. The student’s artwork
will be on display through February 2014.
An artists reception with light refreshments
will take place on Friday, December 6, 2013,
from 5:30pm – 7:00pm.
Monroe Technology Center is located in
Leesburg and is part of the Loudoun County
Public School System. It is an instructional center that serves as a site for 26 Career and
Technical Education elective courses. The instructional focus is to better prepare students with
the knowledge and skills needed for a wide range of careers requiring varying levels of
education from high school to postsecondary and beyond. Monroe Technology Center
integrates academics with career exploration in diverse fields that are constantly evolving due
to the changing global economy.
The artwork featured at the Leesburg Town Exhibit Hall is from Pam Smith’s Graphic
Communication classes. Graphic Communications is a two-year program offered to 11th and
12th grade students. It introduces the student to the graphic communication industry. This
program provides technical training in design and digital imaging. The second year of Graphic
Communications emphasizes production with advanced training using various pieces of
equipment and software applications. Digital imaging, customer service skills, employment,
and job seeking skills will be covered as well.

The Leesburg Town Exhibit Hall was established by the Leesburg Commission on Public Art in
December 2009 to provide a public venue for local artists to display their work. Artists
interested in having their work considered for a future exhibit should contact Jeanette Irby, the
staff liaison to the Leesburg Commission on Public Art, at 703-737-7175 or
