HomeMy Public PortalAboutResolution 10-97 Employee Comp Plan COLARESOLUTION NO. 10-97 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MCCALL, IDAHO, PERTAINING TO ADMINISTRATION; AMENDING THE EMPLOYEE COMPENSATION PLAN; PRODIVIDING FOR A COST -OF -LIVING INCREASE AND SETTING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS: The City Council has previously established in its personnel policy manual, that the city's compensation plan should be competitive with wages paid by other employers for similar jobs in the community. The Council further established in its personnel policy manual, that it will consider an annual cost -of -living adjustment, to be effective on October 1', based on changes in the Consumer Price Index -All Urban Consumers from May of the preceding year to May of the current year, and grant such adjustments whenever budget constraints permit. The City Council that the compensation of City employees ought to keep pace with employee's purchasing power as evidenced by changes in the Consumer Price Index. The City Council further finds that the Consumer Price Index -All Urban Consumers increased by 2.2% between May 1996 and May 1997. NOW, therefore, be it resolved by the City Council of the City of McCall, Idaho as follows: The compensation plan annexed to this resolution as Exhibit "A" which is hereby made a part of this resolution as if contained in full herein, is approved and adopted. The personnel officer be and is hereby directed to set an hourly compensation rate for each employee subject to this plan which shall be at the same point between the lower and upper ranges in this plan as the employee's hourly compensation appears between the lower and upper ranges in the plan adopted by the council effective April 1, 1997. The compensation plan adopted by this resolution shall be in full force and effect from October 1, 1997. Adopted and approved this 23rd Day of September 1997.
