The Illinois Environmental Protection Agency (IEPA) has issued a Notice of Intent to issue a Preliminary
Environmental Impacts Determination (PEID) to the Village of Plainfield. The Village has applied to the
IEPA Public Water Supply Loan Program to request funding to help finance the Old Town Phase 3 Utility
Improvements Project. The project consists of replacement of approximately 11,100 LF of water main
and associated lead service line replacement.
A Project Summary and PEID document provided by the IEPA is available for review at Village Hall at
24401 Lockport St, Plainfield, IL. The document contains the Project locations, descriptions, costs,
environmental impacts, and other information. A Public Hearing has been scheduled at the Village Public
Works Facility at 14400 S. Coil Plus Dr, Plainfield IL on Monday, March 18, 2024 from 5:00pm to 6:30pm
to provide an opportunity for the public to view and comment on the proposed Project and PEID.
This Notice is to provide access to the document and notification of the scheduled Public Hearing to
satisfy Section 662.330 of the Illinois Procedures for Issuing Loans from the Public Water Supply Loan
Program. These documents will be on file at the Village Hall prior to the Public Hearing and for 10 days
after the hearing date to allow for public comment on the proposed Project. Public comments may be
submitted in writing to either:
