The Georgia Environmental Protection Division administers the rules. In most cases, the rules require both the owner and the involved contractors to assure the portion of the building involved in the project is thoroughly inspected by an Accredited Asbestos Inspector for materials that contain asbestos; and the removal of the asbestos before renovation, wrecking, or demolition begins almost without exemption. INTRODUCTION The project site,located at 1.509 2°a Avenue Tybee Island,Georgia 31328 consists of a one-story house that is to be demolished. SES conducted an asbestos survey of this house, ASBESTOS SURVEY AND RESULTS The asbestos sampling was conducted on 02/17/2009,by a Certified Asbestos inspector, Vincent Hamilton of SAS,in accordance with the National Emissions Standard for i, Ardous Air Pollutants(NESI )and the Asbestos Hazard Emergency Response Act (Ai 1LA)requirements. The Exterior Siding is considered a Category 2 friable asbestos material. All friable materials are regulated by the Georgia Asbestos Rules and the Georgia Asbestos Act, therefore removal by a licensed asbestos abatement contractor would be required. All non-friable and friable ACM,are regulated under EPA's NESHAP,40 Ci R 61, Subpart M.'NES'HA P specifies notification,emissions,and disposal requirements.
