HomeMy Public PortalAbout08-25-92 Emergency Council Meeting @ 12_15 p.m.tifMINUTES Emergency Meeting of the Board of Trustees of the Village of Key Biscayne, Florida Called by Mayor Rafael Conte, Tuesday, August 25, 1992 Call to Order at 12 15 p m Present Trustees Clifford Brody, Mortimer Fried, Michael Hill, Joseph Rasco, Vice Mayor Raymond Sullivan, and Mayor Rafael Conte, Village Manager, C Samuel Kissinger, Acting Clerk, Jack Neustadt, and Village Attorney, Richard Weiss The Village Manager and the Trustees discussed at length current efforts as to damage assessment, clearing streets and roads, restoration of utilities ( Trustees near advised of Florida League of Cities Program to mobilize assistance to South Dade Municipalities Trustee Rasco moved to authorize the Village Manger to accept offers of public works, assistance under the Florida League Program Seconded by Vice Mayor, Sullivan Motion passed unanimously The Manager reported continuing efforts to establish in the Village of Key Biscayne a base for Federal Emergency Management Administration (FEMA) personnel to deal directly with both Village, individual and business hurricane damage claims Vice Mayor Sullivan moved, Trustee Fried seconded a motion to authorize the Village Manager to obtain needed assistance from building officials and inspectors to perform, plan, review permit issuance, inspections and related services in fulfilling the Village's responsibility to provide services by the Village Building and Zoning Department Motion passed unanimously Mayor Conte announced that Emergency Meetings would be held daily at 12 noon in the Village Offices until further notice Meeting adjourned at 1 25 p m Any person wishing to appeal any decision made by this Board with respect to any matter considered at this meeting will need a record of the proceeding and for such purposes may need to ensure that a verbatim record of the proceeding is made which record includes the testimony and evidence upon which the appeal is made
