MINUTES
EMERGENCY MEETING OF THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES
of the
VILLAGE OF KEY BISCAYNE, FLORIDA
Tuesday, August 25, 1992
Called by Mayor Rafael Conte
Called to order at 1 40 p m
Present were Mayor Rafael Conte, Vice -Mayor Raymond Sullivan,
Clifford Brody, Joseph Rasco, Mortimer Fried - a quorum
This emercency meeting was called to assess the damage from
Hurricane Andrew, to establish emergency procedures and to
authorize the removal of trees and storm debris blocking the roads
Trustee Brody moved, Vice -Mayor Sullivan seconded, the following
resolution
A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE
VILLAGE OF KEY BISCAYNE, FLORIDA, DECLARING AN
EMERGENCY EXISTS DUE TO DEVASTATION BY
HURRICANE ANDREW, WAIVING COMPETITIVE BID
REQUIREMENTS IN ACCORDANCE WITH SECTION 3 09
OF THE VILLAGE CHARTER, AUTHORIZING THE
VILLAGE MANAGER TO IMPLEMENT EMERGENCY
PROCEEDINGS AND PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE
DATE
The resolution was adopted unanimously
A motion was made by J Rasco to authorize the expense of
$22,000 00 per day for a miximum of four days for Friendly Tree
Service and Rob Erbel to clear the streets and roads of Key
Biscayne Seconded by M Fried Motion passed unanimously
The meeting adjourned at 2 00 p m
