RESOLUTION NO. 77 -1657
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF TEMPLE CITY. ADOPTING A RULE OF PARLIAMENTARY
PROCEDURE
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TEMPLE CITY DOES RESOLVE:
SECTION 1 The City Council finds and determines that it is
common practice in this and other Cities to adopt routine motions
by the so- called "no objection" method, i.e., where the Mayor, after
stating the motion made and seconded, asks whether there are any
objections and, if none are so voiced, declares the motion unani-
mously carried.
SECTION 2. The City Council further finds and declares that
such procedure is advantageous and expedites meetings, thereby
avoiding lengthy roll calls or voice votes.
SECTION 3. The City Council further finds and determines
that each Councilman who has subscribed his name hereto consents to
the rule herein set forth.
SECTION 4. The City Council therefore officially declares
that every Councilman consents to said "no objection" method of
adoption motions, and further agrees that failure to raise an
objection at the proffered time shall be construed to be, and shall
be entered upon the minutes as, a "yes" or affirmative vote on the
motion.
