AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE ISSUANCE OF A SPECIAL USE
PERMIT TO OPERATE AN ADULT-USE CANNABIS DISPENSARY
AT 16020 S. ROUTE 59, IN THE VILLAGE OF PLAINFIELD, WILL COUNTY,
ILLINOIS
WHEREAS, the Village of Plainfield has considered an application for a special
use permit to operate an Adult-Use Cannabis Dispensary, on property located at 16020
S. Route 59, and the Plainfield Plan Commission has held the required public hearing
on February 6, 2024 and made certain findings based on the evidence presented in said
case that:
a. The special use will not be injurious to the use and enjoyment of other
property in the immediate area for the purposes already permitted, nor
substantially diminish property values within the neighborhood; and
b. The establishment of the special use will not impede the normal and
orderly development and improvement of the adjacent properties for uses
permitted in the subject zoning district.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE PRESIDENT AND BOARD OF
TRUSTEES OF THE VILLAGE OF PLAINFIELD, WILL AND KENDALL COUNTIES,
ILLINOIS AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1: Recitals - The President and Board of Trustees of the Village of
Plainfield hereby adopt and incorporate as their own, the above findings recited.
Section 2: Approval — The President and Board of Trustees of the Village of
Plainfield hereby approve the application for a special use permit to operate an Adult-
Use Cannabis Dispensary on property located at 16020 S. Route 59, legally described
as follows:
LOT 1 IN VINTAGE HARVEST COMMERCIAL SUB, BEING A SUB OF
PRT OF THE NE1/4 OF SEC. 21 , T36N-R9E. (EX THAT PRT TAKEN
FOR RD WIDENING PER 07ED9). REVISED LEGAL
DESCRIPTION/ACREAGE CHANGE FOR ROAD WIDENING PER 07 ED

Section 3: Conditions — That said special use permit shall be subject to the
following conditions:
1. Compliance with the requirements of the Village Engineer;
2. Compliance with the requirements of the Plainfield Fire Protection District;
3. Compliance with the requirements of the Village's administrative site plan review.
4. The applicant has 120 days from the special use permit date of approval to
submit a complete building permit application including all necessary
architectural drawings for both internal and external modifications proposed to
the subject property for the operations of an Adult-Use Cannabis Dispensary.
The applicant can request one 60-day extension by formal letter to the Plainfield
Planning Department with the extension requiring the approval of the Village
Board of Trustees.
Section 4: Severability - The various portions of this Ordinance are hereby
expressly declared to be severable, and the invalidity of any such portion of this
Ordinance shall not affect the validity of any other portions of this Ordinance, which
shall be enforced to the fullest extent possible.
Section 5: Repealer - All ordinances or portions of ordinances previously
passed or adopted by the Village of Plainfield that conflict with or are inconsistent with
the provisions of this Ordinance are hereby repealed.
Section 6: Effective Date — This Ordinance shall be in full force and effect
from and after its passage and approval.
