HomeMy Public PortalAboutTOL PR 2013-12-30 Christmas tree recycling Town of Leesburg News Release For Immediate Release Leesburg Offers Christmas Tree Recycling to Town Residents Leesburg, VA (December 30, 2013) – The Town of Leesburg’s solid waste collection contractor, CSI, will collect non-artificial Christmas trees from residential customers as part of their regular recycling collection on the following days: • Southeast & Southwest Quadrants Thursdays, January 2nd & January 9th • Northeast & Northwest Quadrants Fridays, January 3rd & January 10th Please place Christmas trees at the curb before 6:00 a.m. on the day of collection and prepare trees for collection using the following guidelines: • Remove all decorations from trees, including tinsel, angel hair and fake snow. • Remove all lights. • Remove all twine, string and metal or plastic ties. • Remove stands and bases. • Do not place in plastic or “Christmas Tree Disposal” bags. Before January 2nd and after January 10th, Christmas trees with a trunk size of less than 6 inches in diameter will be collected as part of the Town’s regular brush collection.
