soil and sedimentation,wetlands,marshlands protection and shore protection ordinances and codes whether local,state or federal,including
all environmental laws and regulations when applicable,subsequent owners should be informed that any alterations to the property must be
approved by the issuance of another building permit. Permit holder agrees to hold the City of Tybee Island harmless on any construction
covered by this permit.
This permit must be posted in a conspicuous location in the front of building and protected from the weather. If this permit is not posted
work will be stopped. The building contractor will replace curb paving and gutter broken during construction. This permit will be voided
unless work has begun within six months of the date of issuance.

RE: Letter of Permission, Maintenance of existing Private Crosswalk, 1803 Chatham
Avenue, Tybee Island, Chatham County, Georgia
Dear Ms. Downing:
This Letter of Permission(LOP) acknowledges your recent request to maintain the crosswalk located
at 1803 Chatham Avenue, Tybee Island, Georgia. The existing crosswalk is currently covered with
sand. Your request includes the replacement of the 4' x 38' crosswalk at a higher elevation in order
to clear the existing dune.No change in the original footprint is proposed.
The Department authorizes the maintenance of the existing crosswalk as depicted in the attached
drawing. The crosswalk must be located within the footprint but at an elevation 2' above the existing
sand dune. No change to the original footprint is authorized. The work must be done using hand
tools only and no stock piling of materials is authorized in the dunes. Motorized vehicles are
prohibited on the crosswalk structure, except for motorized wheelchairs for handicapped persons.
This Letter of Permission is not meant to exempt the above referenced activity from future
environmental laws. No construction materials or debris may be placed, disposed of, or stored in
jurisdictional areas. Any incidental impacts associated with this project must be rectified by fully
restoring areas to their pre-construction topographic and vegetative states. This project must comply
with all other Federal, State, and local statutes, ordinances and regulations. Please notify the
Department within 30 days of project completion so that staff may perform a compliance inspection.
