Wayne Neddermeyer - Mayor in Chair Priscilla Arens - Clerk Councilmen Raymond Bosch, Arthur Theis, and Donald Des Lauriers present. The minutes of the meeting of July 7th, 1970 read. Moved by Donald Des Lauriers to approve the minutes as read. Seconded by Arthur Theis Motion carried. The minutes of the Planning Commission meeting of July 20, 1970 were read. C. O. Dorweiler appeared with regard to the positions of the "no parking" signs on Hamel Road. G. Gubbins is to check on this with the State. Mary Weirnzel appeared with regard the burning of horse manure in the east of the Village. The matter is be taken care of by the police. Moved by Raymond Bosch to accept the petition of residence on ##116 to reduce the speed from 60 to 50 miles. Seconded by Donald Des Lauriers Motion carried. Moved by Donald Des Lauriers to adopt the resolmtion to be sent to the County with our request to lower the speed limit from 60 to 50 miles on ##116 from ##55 to ##47 and also that they place "slow - children" signs in the resident area. Seconded by Raymond Bosch. Motion carried. John Miller appeared with regard to a trailer pares. Moved by Raymond Bosch that we set the date of August 24, 1970 at 8 P. M. to meet with the Planning Commission for the purpose of discussing the proposed trailer park as presented by Mr. John Miller. Seconded by Arthur Theis Motion carried. Dennis Jordan appeared with egar,..to rezoning his property for multiple dwellings - Hearing set forc.0 `�4, 1970 at 7:00.P. M. Moved by Donald Des Lauriers to table to the next Council meeting the matter for food stamps. Man to contact is Robert C. Peake. Seconded by Raymond Bosch Motion carried. Moyeq.bx Donald Des Lauriers to withhold 10% of $23,249.59, plus the 1W Ysig44,615.74, to make the present payment $20,924.45 on the Barbarossa matter. Seconded by Arthur Theis Motion carried. 2 Moved by Donald Des Lauriers to table the appointment of a new Councilman to next meeting. Seconded by Arthur Theis. Motion carried. Moved by Arthur Theis to grant an onX-sale not -intoxicating beer license to the Holy Name Church for August 30, 1970. Seconded by Raymond Bosch. Motion carried. Moved by Raymond Bosch to pay the Hennepin County League of Municipalities dues of $179.34 which were due July 1, 1970. Seconded by Arthur Theis Motion carried. Moved by Arthur Theis to pay the Minnesota League of Municipalities dues of $241.00 which are due as of September 1, 1970. Seconded by Raymond Bosch. Mention carried. David Gates appeared with regard to extension of sewer and water in the Creekside Addition. Moved by Donald Des Lauriers that we approve the partial listing of house numbers in the district of Hamel and a partial list of the Loretto district. Seconded by Raymond Bosch. Motion carried. Moved by Donald Des Lauriers that we have the words "Hamel Area" on the water tower in smaller letters under the word "Medina'. Seconded by Raymond Bosch. Motion carried. A letter from Juligs Dorweiler stating therPaul Neumann has been appointed as the Fire Marshall of the Hamel Area. Also a letter with regard to future payments to the Hamel Fire Department. Moved by Raymond Bosch to adopt the resolution to cover the endorsement of the League of Minnesota Municipalities on tax exemption of charity cases. Seconded by Donald Des Lauriers Motion crried. Moved by Raymond Bosch to pay the bills: payroll in the amount of $4,912.41 and order checks in the amount of 331,838.71. Seconded by Arthur Theis Motion carried. Wayne Neddermeyer - Mayor in Chair All members of both Council and Planning Commission present. John Miller, the developer for the Mobile Park,gave a detailed outline of the project to cover the Faue and McGowan properties, consisting of 2,23 acres. John Wingard gave a outline of the situation as it stands in the Legislature, with regard to the tax situation. The meeting closed at 9:00 P. Moved by Raymond Bosch to instruct the street superintendent to blockade the streets for the Northwest Suburban Chamber of Commerce atreet dance on August 28th from 6 P. M. to 1 A. M. and also grant a dance permit, with no charge. Seconded by Arthur Theis Motion carried. Moved by Raymond Bosch to adjourn the meeting.. Seconded by Donald Des Lauriers Motion carried.
