IONA COMMUNITY CENTER
SEPTEMBER 10, 2014 6:30 P.M.
PRESENT: Chairman Dan Garren, Members — Roy Hobbs, Bette Lovinus, Melanie Shirling,
and Clerk Julie Hammond.
ABSENT: None.
VISITORS: None.
Chairman Garren welcomed everyone and Member Shirling led with the Pledge of Allegiance.
Minutes Approved: Member Lovinus motioned to approve the Planning & Zoning (P&Z)
Minutes of August 13, 2014 as written. Chairman Garren seconded the motion. All were in
favor, motion carried.
Bonneville County Area of Impact Agreement/Area of Expansion: Member Shirling spoke
with Ammon's Planning & Zoning. They indicated that they would not be against Iona
expanding its impact area 1/4mile south of 1st Street.
P&Z agreed that it was more critical to have the verbiage updated on the Iona/Bonneville Impact
Area Agreement and follow up with the maps later.
Chairman Garren planned on attending the Bonneville County P&Z Public Hearing on
September 24, 2014 regarding the Liberty Estates Division #1, Preliminary Plat that lies west of
45th East and within the City Impact Area.
Chairman Garren will review with Attorney Storer and meet with Roger Christensen, Bonneville
County Commissioner to resolve the Iona/Bonneville Impact Area Agreement.
Member Hobbs will attend Idaho Falls Planning & Zoning later this month.
Member Shirling will follow up on the letter prepared by Council President Walker in March
regarding the Area of Impact Expansion.
Clerk Hammond will submit proposed verbiage changes to Council and ask for direction for the
Iona Impact Area Boundaries.
Member Lovinus will not be in attendance at next month's meeting.
