HomeMy Public PortalAbout2018-07-16 pre-meeting1 COUNCIL “PRE-MEETING” WORK SESSION, JULY 16, 2018 CALL TO ORDER In the absence of Mayor Carrie Tergin, President Pro Tempore Ken Hussey called the July 16, 2018 City Council “Pre-Meeting” to order at 5:45 P.M. to review the agenda. ATTENDANCE The following Council Members were present when the meeting convened: Present: Fitzwater, Graham, Hensley, Hussey, Kemna, Mihalevich, Prather, Schreiber, Wiseman, and Ward Absent: None A quorum was present. DISCUSSION OF AGENDA ITEMS Prayer - Councilwoman W ard will lead the prayer. Miscellaneous - Mayor Tergin will present the Chamber of Commerce with a proclamation for their 125th Anniversary. - The Cultural Arts Foundation will present a Capitol Avenue print to Mayor Tergin and the City of Jefferson. - Retirees, Fred Rademan and Diane Cary will both be recognized, as well as the July Outstanding Employee Service Award Recipient, Brad Wiser. - Jayme Abbott, Neighborhood Services Manager will introduce Republic Services who will give a brief presentation on recycling. Public Hearing - Eric Barron, Planning Manager will present Bill 2018-021. A public hearing procedure handout was distributed to the City Council and Staff. Correspondence pertaining to the bill, received after the City Council Packet was distributed, will be given to the Councilmembers in the Council Chambers prior to the meeting. - Councilman Mihalevich will recuse himself from voting on Bill 2018-021. Mayor Carrie Tergin arrived at the pre-meeting at 5:50 P.M. 2 COUNCIL “PRE-MEETING” WORK SESSION, JULY 16, 2018 Appointments - Mayor Tergin will present one appointment recommendation for approval for the Cultural Arts Foundation. Bills Introduced - Matt Morasch, Director of Public Works will present Bills 2018-026 and 2018- 027. Bills Pending - Eric Barron will present Bills 2018-022 and 2018-023. - Matt Morasch will present Bill 2018-024. New Business - On behalf of the Charter Review Advisory Committee, Ryan Moehlman, City Counselor will request a 60-day extension for further review of Section 6.2 of the City Charter pertaining to the Parks and Recreation Commission. ADJOURNMENT The meeting adjourned at 5:54 P.M.
