�ance No. 40 Entitled "An Ordinance
Establishing a Fire Department and
Providing for the Organization of a
Fire Company in the Town of Wells.,
burg, Iowa.,, I
lie it. ordained by the Council of the
Town of Wellsburg, Iowa:
Section 1. That section seventeen
(17) and section eighteen (18) of the
ordinance No. 40 entitled "An Ordi-
nance Establishing a Fire Department

a Fire Company in the Town of Wells-
burg, Iowa.- are hereby repealed and
the following section ordained in lieu
thereof.
"Section 18. The compensation for
services rendered by members of the .e
fire department at any fire shall be one
dollar ($1.00) for the first hour and
Ififty cents ($0.50) per hour for each
hour or part of hour thereafter, not to
exceed twelve hours at any one fire. All
members of the fire department shall
be exempt from payment of any poll' ��� y�--! - '^�^p� �/

tax. In addition to his compensation
as a fireman, the chief of the fire
department shall receive a salary of
ten dollars ($10.00) per annum, payable'
yearly. The chief or secretary of the
fire denartment, shall certify to the /�,�o (�
council -the name of each fireman at
any fire and the total number L
of
the member was engaged in hours fighting
such fire."
Section 2. All ordinances or parts of
ordinances in conflict with this ordi-
nance are hereby repealed.
Section 3. This ordinance shall be
in force and effect from and after its 10I
passage and adoption and publicatior• or —
