A motion was made for approval of the minutes from the April 19, 2018 meeting by Jeanne Rutledge,

The Historic Walking Tour was discussed between board members. Nancy Thompson announced there
were approximately 150 people in attendance at the walking tour. There were $835.00 in donations.
Discussion occurred about which stones to fix next with the donated money. Nancy stated that she
would like to repair the Daniel Colgan gravestone. Nancy also mentioned that she will be working with
Jerrod Atteberry, Capital Monuments, to look at other flat gravestone markers that need repair.
Nancy announced that the National Registry Application has made it successfully through the Missouri
State Historic Preservation Office review and she should hear back from the United States Department

Discussion occurred between board members regarding the Sara Walker Gravestone Project. Nancy
discussed talking with Jerrod Atteberry regarding the cost of the granite slab. Jerrod stated projects like
this may cost more on future projects because they had the Sara Walker granite slab left over from a
project. Pat Rowe Kerr advised that maybe other granite companies could help with the cost of a
granite slab for future projects also.
Nancy discussed her progress on QR Codes and thought putting QR Codes directly on monuments may
damage them. She brought up the idea about signage in the cemetery. One sign at the entrance
describing the history of the cemetery and multiple signs placed throughout the cemetery at strategic
locations. She stated she had visited with Gerry Kliethermes from Missouri Vocational Enterprises
regarding the making of these signs. QR Codes could be placed on the signs.
New Business:
Nancy Thompson mentioned that a partnership with Amanda Burke with the Missouri Department of
Natural Resources may be occurring for hosting a cemetery preservation workshop in Woodland and Old
City Cemetery in the 2019. This would be a half day in the classroom and a half day in the cemetery
learning about cemetery preservation. Tim Theroff stated he will relay information to other cemeteries
regarding the workshop and Nancy will invite historical societies in the area.
David Grellner passed out a rough draft of the Annual Cemetery Resources Board Report for the board
to review. David also discussed the annual restoration project in Woodland and Old City Cemetery. This
year approximately forty gravestones will be repaired.
Other Topics and Issues:
Nancy discussed the placement of names on the "Gone But Not Forgotten Monument" in Old City
Cemetery. Bill Dallmeyer requires 8-10 names be acquired before he brings equipment into the
cemetery to engrave the monument. Discussion occurred between board members on how long it may
take to acquire 8-10 names. A solution to this will be discussed in future meetings.
The next Cemetery Resources Board meeting was set for Thursday, July 19, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. in the
Thomas Jefferson Conference Room at City Hall.
Adjournment:
With no further business, the meeting was adjourned.
Respectfully submitted,
David Grellner
