1968 at 7:35 P. M.

Wayne Neddermeyer, Harold Winterhalter, Raymond Bosch and
Rayburn Anderson present.
The minutes of the previous meeting of July 2, 1968 read. Moved by Harold
Winterhalter that the minutes be approved as read.
Seconded by Rayburn Anderson
Motion carried.
The minutes of the special meeting of July 15, 1968 read. Moved by Raymond
Bosch that the minutes be -approved as read.
Seconded by Harold Winterhalter.
Motion carried.
The minutes of the Planning Commission meeting of July 15, 1968 read.
Moved by Harold Winterhalter to authorize the Mayor and Clerk to sign the
five license permits for crossings with the Soo Dine Railroad.
Seconded by Rayburn Anderson
Motion carried.
Moved by Harold Winterhalter to renew our membership in the Minnesota League
of Municipalities and authorize the Clerk to issue a check in the amount
of $140.00 to cover the dues due Spptember 1, 1968.
Seconded by Raymond Bosch.
Motion carried.
The letter and petition from the Soo Line Railroad for removal of the depot
at Hemel was read. Businessmen of the Hemel area had been previously
advised. There were no objections to its removal.

Moved by Harold Winterhalter that the bids be accepted and the Village Engineer
be instructed to tabulate the bids and make his recommendations at a Council
Meeting to be held on Friday, Aug#st 9, 1968 at 8:00 P. M.

The Vernon Olson fire call problem was discussed. The Olsons did not appear
and Mr. Gubbins took the file for further attention.
Moved by Rayburn Anderson to authorize the Mayor and Clerk to sign the Hard-
shell copies for the following: That part of Government Lot 1, Section 22,
Township 118, Range 23 described as follows: Commencing at a point in the S
line of said Section, distant 1452.8 feet East of the Southwest corner of
said Section, said South line is assumed to bear due East and West; Vence
North 275 feet to the actual point of beginning; thence continuing N
733 feet; thence E 560.71 feet; thence S to the shore line of Wolsfeld Fake;
thence Southwesterly along said shore line to a intersection with a line
bearing S 69° 50 ' 03" E from the actual point of beginning; thence H
69° 501 Or W to the actual point of beginning; to Thomas Crosby.

A copy of letter written by Mr. Wingard to the Water Pollution Control
Agency was read.
A letter from the Federal Deposit Insurance Company commence Orlo Eisinger
for the security work he had done was read.
Rayburn Anderson reported that he and Emil Jubert had met with the Independence
Village Council and it was decided to leave the agreement with regard to
maintaining the down line roads as it is.
Moved by Rayburn Anderson to pay the bills as follows: payroll in the amount
of $1880.80 and order checks in the amount of $10,898.73.
Seoonded by Raymond Bosch.
Motion carried.
A letter from the City of Minneapolis with regard to weapon control was read.
Moved by Rayburn Anderson that the meeting adjourn.

The Council of the Village of Medina met in special session Friday, August 9,
1968 at 8:00 P. M.

All members present.
Mr. Mills and Mr. Gubbins explained the reasons why the bids for the sewer and
water project were larger thantthe estimates - mostly due to the condition
of the soil now because of all the rain.
Moved by Raymond Bosch to allow the Carl ,Bolander Compaa:y to withdraw their
bid without penalty, due to a blatant error in the figuring of their bid.
Seconded by Harold Winterhalter
Motion carried.
Moved by Harold Winterhalter that we hold an additional public hearing.re-
garding the, revised sewer and water project, to be held at Medina Ballroom
the 26th of August at 8:00 P. M., the Clerk to be instructed to have the
matter published and notify the property holders.
Seconded by Rayburn Anderson
Motion carried.
Moved by Harold Winterhalter that the meeting adjourn.
