AN APPROPRIATION ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE SUBMITTAL,
ACCEPTANCE, AND APPROPRIATION OF A GRANT FROM
THE INDIANA DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION
WHEREAS, the U.S. Department of Transportation is authorized to make grants to states through the Federal Transit Administration (FTA) to support capital, operating and feasibility study
assistance projects for non-urbanized public transportation systems under Section 5311 if the FTA Act of 1964, as amended; and
WHEREAS, the Public Transit Section, Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT) has been designated by the Governor to make Section 5311 grants for public transportation projects;
and
WHEREAS, the Indiana Department of Transportation has grant funding available; and
WHEREAS, the City of Richmond desires to submit a grant application to assist with operating and capital expenses for Rose View Transit for 2003; and
WHEREAS, a local match of One Hundred Ten Thousand Eight Hundred Sixty-eight Dollars ($110,868.00) is required for this grant.
NOW, THEREFORE, be it ordained by the Common Council of the City of Richmond, Indiana, as follows:
1. The City of Richmond is authorized to submit a grant application to the Indiana Department of Transportation to assist with operating and capital expenses for Rose View Transit for
2003.
2. The City of Richmond is authorized to accept said grant funding in an amount up to Eight Hundred Eight Thousand Three Hundred Twenty-seven Dollars ($808,327.00).
3. Said funds, if awarded to the City of Richmond, shall be appropriated as follows:
a) Seven Hundred Five Thousand Two Hundred Seventy-seven Dollars ($705,277.00) to assist with operating expenses for Rose View Transit for 2003; and
b) One Hundred Three Thousand Fifty Dollars ($103,050.00) to assist with capital improvements for Rose View Transit in 2003.
Passed and adopted this 5th day of August, 2002, by the Common Council of the City of Richmond, Indiana.
