REGULAR MEETING OF THE COUNCIL OF THE VILLAGE OF MEDINA
AUGUST 7,1962
Meeting called to order at 8 PM, all council members present.
Minutes of regular meeting of July 3, 1962 were read. Motion by Arens to accept
minutes as read, second by Gertz motion carried.
V S Peterson of random Agency present a proposal for accident insurance for
village employees, they would not be able to insure the employees on a group
basis, cost per induWidual would be approximately $69. or $47. depending on
plan selected. It was decieded to call a meeting of employees affected and
discusses the plan further.
Complaint by Independence beach residents of gagabage being dumped by Mr. Hall
on his property and a large hole on the Ruter property. Mayor told them that
the village could dos nothing in either case and that he would contact the
village health officer.
A discussion of use of fire arms in the village was held, it was decided to IIDIM
discuss this at futher meeting.
Mayor Scoot reported that he had written a letter to the Councy water patrol
and received no reply from them. Motion by Winterhalter to instruct the Clerk
to writ3 a letter tb the Counsty Commissioners requesting that a water safty
patrol unit of some kind be permanently stationed at Lake Independe: Second
by Arens Motion carried.
M otion by Arens tba Authorize Medina Morningside to install plyground eqiupment
in the park area at the Medina Morningside plat, second by Gertz, motion carried.
Motion by Gertz to grant a trailer permit for 3 months to Lyzum Cota, 1520 Linden,
Wayzata, Minnesota, Second by Winterhalter , motion carried.
Motion by Winterhalter to advertise for bids for rental of road equipment according
to engineers specifications on afi hourly basis., second by Arnes, motion carried.
Ootion by Arens to instuct the clerk to write the Councy Auditor tethling him that
the property described as lot 2 and 3 now used as travelled rod on the the plat of
Hamel, is excempt from delingquent and futher taxes. second by Winterhalter, motion
carried. Motion by Arens to appoint the following election judges, Viola Bouley,
Elizabeth Proehl, Donna Roehl, Leona Koelfgen and Mary Kohnen, second by Gertz,
motion carried. Motion by Gertz to set August 29,1962 as the date for a special
budget meeting, second by Arens, motion carried.
Motion by Winterhalter to purchase a model 97 shotgun provid0.4 it passed inspection
by a gunsmith, second by Areas, motion OX carried. A Gertz voted present.
Rochie Begin appeared with a request for a buildigg permit located on Road 48.
He was told to get a survey of the location of the proposed dwelling and bring
it to the meeting to be held on August 29.
Building inspector reported that he had issued a peemit to Medina Lanes for
expansion of the present building, and suggested that the council should check
ordinance about fire protection in public building.
Motion by Arens to adjourn, second by Winterhalter, motion carried.
