The City Council of Medina, Minnesota met in special session on August 8, 2012 at 6:03
p.m. in the City Hall Chambers. Mayor Crosby presided.
I. ROLL CALL
Members present: Crosby, Pederson, Siitari and Weir.
Members absent: Martinson
Also present: City Planner Dusty Finke, Public Works Superintendent Steve Scherer,
Police Chief Ed Belland, Paul Kolias RJM Construction, Mark Wentzell 292 Design
Group, and City Administrator Scott Johnson.
II. 600 Clydesdale Trail and Possible City Hall Renovation Project
Mark Wentzell provided the City Council with the three options for the proposed project.
Council discussed the options. The modifications from Council included; funds for a
quality outside appearance for the building, changing the red stripe to a blue or tan
color, reviewing the roof structures to make sure replacement and repairs are made to
provide longevity, and remove the existing refrigeration units from the roof (existing from
when the building was used by a beer distributorship). Public Works Superintendent
requested that in -floor heating be included in the options for heating the maintenance
area.
Finance Director Joe Rigdon reviewed how the new proposed bonding debt would
impact residential, commercial, and industrial properties in Medina. Council directed
staff to put together a modified option #2 for the August 21 st Work Session.
V. ADJOURN
Mayor Crosby adjourned the Work Session at 6:57 p.m.
