The Workshop will begin at 9 :45 a.m. and continue until approximately 5: 00 p.m. The purpose of the workshop will be to discuss the goals of the District and the means of implementing these goals. Grench, General Manager SUBJECT: Master Plan Policy Statements As you know, K. Duffy has been collecting comments on the Master Plan policy statements which D. Wendin drafted. If you have not already done so and wish to contribute, please pass on your thoughts to her. The current status of the statements will be discussed on December 11. M. at the District's office. It would be my intention to consider any items remaining from the regular meeting of December 11, plus other items of a, fairly routine nature at the meeting of the 18th. After discussing the postponement of the workshop with members of the staff, I have concluded that a major review of the Action Plan and Land Management Goals should come in February. Since there are five Wednesdays in January, I would like to suggest Saturday, February 1 for the date. This would provide an approximate ten day period on each side of the workshop for staff preparation of meetings. Because it would be convenient for us to have our maps and reports close at hand and because it is less confusing to the public, I suggest that we entertain the idea of conducting the workshop at the office. An agenda should be developed which establishes a particular block of time for consideration of each agenda item. (for example 9:45A.M. Coffee 10:00 A. M. . . . . . Annual Report 11,30 A. Adjournment I Would also like to recommend that the Board agree to an annual workshop on such matters to be conducted at aproximately the same time each year. The purpose would be to make a special attempt at informing the public on the District's activities and to obtain public opinion on the basic directions for the coming year. In my opinion, this would go a long way to increasing the visibility of this special district. Because of Bill Peters's special interest and dedication to the District's entire program, every effort should be made to encourage his attend- ance and participation in the workshop. Sincerely, f.
