Call to rder: The meeting was called to order at 7 PM by Dr. Chaffee
1. Dona d C.Arthur-BOH variance request for 213 Run Hill Road:
Variance,requested is as follows:
a. Allow an existing SAS to remain approximately 130 from a pond.
Mary Chaffee recused herself and left the room as she is one of the owners,
Discussin: Joe Smith, septic inspector from Bennett Environmental,and Donald Arthur, owner,were present. This
inspection was done for a real estate transfer. JS did ask for clarification from Board as to whether or not this was a pond.
It was determined by the Conservation Administrator that it was Groundwater flow is towards the pond.
Motion:IGrant the variance request finding that it is a functioning septic system that passed an inspection,the property is
3 acres with a 2 acre abandoned bog, depth to groundwater is 20',the SAS is as far away from the pond as possible,the
dwelling is 1,080sf with 5 rooms including 3 bedrooms, septic is for a 3 bedroom home,and there is public water to the
property
Motion:I Lemuel Skidmore Second: Annie Sherwood Vote: 3-0-0 Action: motion carried
Mary Chaffee returned to meeting
2. Continued discussion on Tanning Regulation:
A survey of other town's fees was given to the Board by the Health Director. No changes were made to regulation.
3. Discussion on Sand& Gravel Regulation:
Board reviewed the current regulation to determine if any updates are needed. The Health Director has no
recommendations for changes.No changes were made.

4. DiscuOsion of Upgrading of Substandard Onsite Sewage Disposal Systems Regulation:
Board discussed the current regulation to determine if updates are needed.The Health Director has no recommendations
for changes.Lem Skidmore suggested that the Board may wish to hold this discussion after the Board holds a discussion
with Mark Nelson from Horsley Witten Group.
5. Apprival of Minutes: Minutes from 9/3/13 meeting-postponed.
6. Topics the Chairman did not anticipate
4. Lem Skidmore wishes to arrange a date for Mark Nelson from Horsley Witten Group to join the BOH meeting
fipr a discussion. He will check with Mark Nelson about meeting with the Board on Nov. 12th(if he can't come to
the Oct 1st meeting).
b. There was discussion by the Board about the November meeting dates. It was decided that they would be held
On November 12th and 26th
c. Mary Chaffee announced that the PAYT bags would start going into stores this week and that PAYT starts
October 3rd
