P.M. AT THE COMMUNITY CENTER
PRESENT: Members; Dan Garren, Lance Ellis, Roy Hobbs, Mike Taylor, Robert Geray,
Clerk Robyn Keyes.
VISITORS: Chief Basaraba, Mayor Andersen
PZ member Garren welcomed everyone and PZ member Hobbs led the Pledge of
Allegiance.
Minutes. The minutes were reviewed. PZ member Taylor made a motion to approve the
minutes. PZ member Geray seconded the motion. Minutes approved.
Emergency Operations Plan. Chief Basaraba said the Emergency Operations Plan
(EOP) would be in the City office for review. The Chief said the company was still
working on finalizing the plan and it should be complete by April.
PZ member Geray asked if the company creating the plan was endorsed by the federal
government. Chief Basaraba said they were.
PZ member Taylor asked what role, if any, Planning and Zoning had with the EOP now
that it was approved.
Chief Basaraba said none and that the Council would take over from here.
Mayor Andersen explained that typically the Council or a special board would handle
issues like the EOP, but sometimes the Council needed help with some programs in the
beginning stages.
PZ President Garren said the Planning and Zoning members had taken an interest in the
project and would like to be kept informed of the progress and offered future assistance.
Previous Business. PZ member Hobbs said he would like to revisit the windmill issues
and asked Clerk Keyes to put windmills on next month's agenda.
Mayor Andersen recommended that the PZ write a letter to Bonneville County Planning
and Zoning stating the interest in increasing the City's impact area. The letter will help
open the lines of communication between the count and the City.
Mayor Meeting. Mayor Andersen thanked the Planning and Zoning members for their
hard work and dedication. The Mayor said their volunteer position was an important part
of keeping the City running smoothly and reminded them they were an important part of
the checks and balances within the City government.
PZ member Geray made a motion to adjourn.
PZ member Ellis seconded the motion.
Adjourned 7:20 p.m.
