AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF LYNWOOD, COUNTY OF LOS ANGELES, STATE OF
CALIFORNIA, ADOPTING AN AMENDED ZONING
CODE, CHAPTER 25 OF THE LYNWOOD MUNICIPAL
CODE IN ITS ENTIRETY, AND APPROVING THE
ACCOMPANYING INITIAL STUDY AND NEGATIVE
DECLARATION.
WHEREAS, Section 65800 et. seq. of the California Government Code authorizes
cities and counties to prepare Zoning Code regulations; and whereas, the City of Lynwood
adopted a prior Zoning Code with succeeding amendments; and
WHEREAS, the City of Lynwood desires to update its Zoning Code; and
WHEREAS, the Lynwood Planning Commission, pursuant to law, conducted four (4)
public hearings on November 9, 2004, December 14, 2004, January 11, 2005 and
February 8, 2005 and approved the Zoning Ordinance Amendment; and
WHEREAS, the Lynwood City Council, pursuant to law, conducted a duly noticed
public hearing on March 1, 2005 and received oral and written testimony relative to the
Amended Zoning Code and introduced the ordinance for first reading; and
WHEREAS, the Lynwood City Council has sufficiently considered all testimony
presented to'thern in order to make the following determination relative to the Amended
Zoning Code and the Negative Declaration and Initial Study.
WHEREAS, the City Council approved the ordinance for second reading and
adoption on March 15, 2005.
Section 1. The City Council of the City of Lynwood hereby finds and determines
as follows:
A. The City Council, after reviewing and considering the information in the
Negative Declaration and Initial Study prepared for the Amended Zoning
Code determines that they have been completed in compliance with the
California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) in that they contain a complete
and accurate accounting of all environmental impacts.
S. The City Council determines that the Amended Zoning Code is consistent
with the Lynwood General Plan.
C. The City Council determines that the Amended Zoning Code is a
comprehensive document addressing all applicable zoning considerations.
D. The City Council determines that the Amended Zoning Code will not be
detrimental and would not negatively impact the public health, safety, or
general welfare.

Section 2. The City Council of the City of Lynwood hereby repeals Chapter 25
(Zoning) of the Lynwood Municipal Code in its entirety.
Section 3. The City Council of the City of Lynwood hereby adopts the Amended
Zoning Code in its entirety in the document entitled "Lynwood Zoning Code.
Section 4. The City Council of the City of Lynwood hereby repeals Section 4 -22
(Home Occupations) of the Lynwood Municipal Code in its entirety.
Section 5. The City Clerk is hereby directed to certify to the passage and adoption
of this Ordinance and cause it to be published or posted as required by law.
First read at a regular meeting of the City Council held on the 1St day of
