CITY OF RWERDALE
PROCLAMATION
WHEREAS, the City of Riverdale, Iowa, has experienced severe weather many times in the past, and;
WHEREAS, recently, on August 10, 2020, the City of Riverdale, Iowa, along with most areas of the State
of Iowa, experienced a derrecho resulting in a federal disaster declaration, and;
WHEREAS, in June of 2019, the City of Riverdale, Iowa, experienced a major flood event, and;
WHEREAS, residents of the City of Riverdale, Iowa, deserve to be informed of planning and
preparedness best practices that help minimize the number of weather -related deaths and injuries, and;
WHEREAS, these best practices are invaluable in helping individuals, families, and businesses recover
quickly and completely from emergencies and disasters.
THEREFORE, be it resolved that I, Anthony Heddlesten, Mayor of the City of Riverdale, Iowa, do hereby
proclaim the week of March 21-25, 2022, as
SEVERE WEATHER
AWARENESS WEEK
And invite all residents of the City of Riverdale, Iowa, and otherwise to learn more about severe weather
an to take necessary precautions when severe weather occurs.
