Please allow three business days to process the request. Minutes of Meeting Jefferson City Council Committee on Administration Wednesday, September 5, 2018 City Hall - 320 E. McCarty Street Boone Bancroft Conference Room ATTENDEES: Committee members present: Laura Ward, Erin Wiseman, Ron Fitzwater, Rick Prather, Jon Hensley. Staff present: Gail Strope, Steve Crowell and Ryan Moehlman. Others Present: Nicole Roberts with News Tribune. Meeting came to order at 7:30 a.m. by Councilwoman Erin Wiseman. The August 1, 2018 minutes were approved with a motion by Councilman Ron Fitzwater and second by Councilwoman Laura Ward. The motion passed 5-0. Human Relations Commission Membership: City Counselor, Ryan Moehlman discussed the ordinance for rules for quorum and electronic participation on city commissions and committees. A decision was made to remove the Red section wording and Councilman John Hensley wanted this wording to be added: It is the expectation of the City of Jefferson that persons agreeing to serve on its boards and commissions will attend all meetings in person unless extraordinary circumstances make an individual’s in-person attendance at the meeting impossible. It was decided to send the ordinance to the full council with the above mentioned changes. Rick Prather wanted Transportations and Traffic Commission added. A motion was made by Laura Ward and seconded by John Hensley, sending the ordinance to the full council with the above mentioned changes. The motion passed unanimously. Chamber of Commerce attendance at council meeting : Presented by Erin Wiseman. Councilwoman Wiseman would like to see more updates from the chamber regarding economic development and workforce development. Ryan Moehlman will look at what other cities do for economic development and report back at the October meeting. Appointments: Presented by Gail Strope. A motion was made by Rick Prather, and seconded by Laura Ward that all appointments be approved except for Historic Preservation, as they would like to consider other realtors. Motion passed unanimously. Gail also reminded committee members of the Kevin Meinhardt Memorial Award nominations forms that were sent out yesterday. The next scheduled meeting will be held at 7:30a.m on Wednesday, November 7, 2018 in the Boone/Bancroft room at City Hall.
