AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
LYNWOOD APPROVING ZONE CHANGE NO. 2003 -02,
CHANGING THE ZONING FROM C -2 (LIGHT
COMMERCIAL) TO C -3 (HEAVY COMMERCIAL), ON
PROPERTY LOCATED- AT 3365 MARTIN LUTHER KING- -
JR. BOULEVARD, FURTHER DESCRIBED AS ASSESSOR
PARCEL NUMBER 6208 - 017 -008, TRACT 5772, LOT 95,
CITY OF LYNWOOD, CALIFORNIA.
WHEREAS, the Lynwood City Council, pursuant to law, conducted a public
hearing on Zone Change No. 2003 -02 on June 3, 2003 and approved such ordinance for
first reading and introduction; and
WHEREAS, the Lynwood Planning Commission, pursuant to law, conducted a
public hearing on Zone Change No. 2003 -02 on May 13, 2003 and approved such zone
change-land
WHEREAS, the Lynwood City Council carefully considered all public oral and
written communication on the proposed zone change-, and
WHEREAS, the Lynwood City Council determines that a C -3 (Heavy Commercial)
zoning designation is appropriate as the proposed land use on this property is would be
consistent with the goals, policies and of the General Plan and be consistent with other
commercial properties in the vicinity-, and
WHEREAS, the Development Services Department has determined that the
proposal is categorically exempt from the California Environmental Quality Act; (CEQA)
as amended pursuant to Sections 1530(a).
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LYNWOOD DOES
HEREBY ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. The City Council of the City of Lynwood hereby finds and determines
as follows:
A. A C -3 (Heavy Commercial) zoning of this property would be consistent with
existing development and compatible with surrounding land uses and
development in the vicinity.
B. The project plans demonstrate that the development will satisfy all required
development standards set forth in the Lynwood Municipal Code.
C. The C -3 zoning will be consistent with goals and policies set forth in the
Lynwood General Plan. The current General Plan designation is
Commercial and is consistent with the zone change.
D. The C -3 zoning designation will not be detrimental to the properties
surrounding the site and would not negatively impact the public health,
safety, or general welfare.

Section 2. The City Council of the City of Lynwood, based upon the
aforementioned findings and determinations, hereby approves Zone Change No. 2003 -02
changing the zoning designation for 3365 Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard from C -2
(Light Commercial) to C -3 (Heavy Commercial).
Section 3. The City Clerk of the City of Lynwood is hereby directed to certify to
the passage and adoption of this Ordinance and to cause it to be published or posted as
required by law.
