at 7:30 P. M.
Members present: Mayor Thomas Anderson, Nancy Laurent, Bill Reisev, Sarah Lutz
arrived at 8:45 P. M.
Members absent: Thomas Crosby
1. POPOVITCH - ROAD AGREEMENT
The road installation is not acceptable to the Medina City Engineer or the Zoning
Administrator. The City Attorney advised that we should not get into the private
road construction business.
Motion by Bill Reiser, seconded by Nancy Laurent that no permit be given without
complying with the agreement.
Motion carried.
2. BUDGET
A. Julius Dorweiler presented the Hamel Fire Department Budget - $19,875.00
for operating. He suggested that the City start purchasing equipment and fund only
the operating expenses. Question was raised about use of equipment outside the City
boundary and if equipment shouldn't be located at the City Hall. The Hamel Fire
Department needs a 3/4 Ton, 4-Wheel Drive grass rig at a purchase price of $16,000.00
and also an addition to their present building at a cost of $40,000.00. He also
stated that they have about 6 years left to pay on their latest truck and making annual
payments of $11,500.00. Ron Duran suggested that we buy the truck by way of Hennepin
County Purchasing. Nancy Laurent suggested we get money from HUD Grant and have the
City Clerk research the possibility, also determine the assessed value ratio with
Corcoran in the area served. Propose a meeting with the City of Corcoran to formulate
a capital improvement purchase program after the Hamel Fire Department makes a proposal
to the City of Corcoran.
B. Review Public Safety and Police Budget. The City Administration to get
Chucks car so as not to be used as a backup. (Wait until next year).
C. Reviewed Public Works Building and City Roads
D. Water -Sewer
Want to see if grants are available for new well and iron removal.
E. Parks
• 1/3 of 3/4 Ton Truck to come out of the Park Fund.
F. Raise Loretto Police Protection by 10
G. Suggest Sylvia to write out a proposal and job description.
