Home My Public Portal About2018-09-17 pre-meeting1 COUNCIL “PRE-MEETING” WORK SESSION, SEPTEMBER 17, 2018 CALL TO ORDER Mayor Carrie Tergin called the September 17, 2018 City Council “Pre-Meeting” to order at 5:45 P.M. to review the agenda. ATTENDANCE The following Council Members were present when the meeting convened: Present: Hensley, Hussey, Kemna, Mihalevich, Prather, Schreiber, and Ward Absent: Fitzwater, Graham, and Wiseman A quorum was present. DISCUSSION OF AGENDA ITEMS Miscellaneous Agenda Items - Mayor Tergin requested a motion to amend the agenda to move Item 15.b. RS2018-15 to Item 4.c. under Miscellaneous. Air show guests will be in the audience to answer any questions. Public Hearings - Margie Mueller, Director of Finance/IT will present Bill 2018-034. - Eric Barron, Planning Manager will present Bill’s 2018 -048, 2018-049, and 2018-050. Appointments by the Mayor - Gail Strope, Human Resources Director will present the recommended appointments. Two of the appointments require a 2/3 majority vote so a roll call vote will be taken for approval. Announcements - Sonny Sanders, Director of Planning and Protective Services will announce the JEFFTRAN Survey and Open House, as well as the Analysis of Impediments to Fair Housing Public Meeting. Consent Agenda - Councilman Hensley asked if Item 11.c. relating to the Jefferson City Area Chamber of Commerce contract should be pulled off the Consent Agenda to discuss a possible amendment to the contract since Councilwoman Wiseman 2 COUNCIL “PRE-MEETING” WORK SESSION, SEPTEMBER 17, 2018 was unable to attend tonight’s meeting. City Counselor, Ryan Moehlman indicated that the item could remain on the Consent Agenda for approva l, and amendments to the contract could be discussed/added after the approval if the City Council so chooses. Bills Introduced - Councilman Prather will request to suspend the rules to take up Bill 2018 -052 for third reading and final passage. - Mr. Barron will present Bill 2018-054. Councilman Fitzwater arrived at the meeting at 5:55 P.M. Informal Calendar - Bill sponsor, Councilman Hussey, will take Bill 2018-045 off the Informal Calendar and motion to take up Substitute Bill 2018 -045. ADJOURNMENT The meeting adjourned at 5:58 P.M.
