Cutthroat Yarn Shop Will Celebrate Grand Opening With
Ribbon Cutting on Thursday, April 3, 2014
Leesburg, VA (March 28, 2014) –
The Village at Leesburg’s newest
store, Cutthroat Yarn, will
celebrate its grand opening with
a ribbon cutting ceremony at
5:30pm on Thursday, April 3, 2014. Mayor Kristen Umstattd will officiate the ribbon cutting
ceremony. Cutthroat Yarn is located at 1609 Village Market Boulevard SE.
Cutthroat Yarn is a locally owned and operated yarn and knitting store, started by Jeanette
Ward. The store features a variety of yarns, including some spun by hand in the store, and
knitting and spinning supplies. Ward will also offer needle art classes for all ages and skill
levels, teaching all how easy it is to crochet, stitch, bind off and back loop to make the perfect
homemade gifts for friends and family.
"We're excited to be open and giving the needle artists of Loudoun County and beyond
somewhere to hone their skills and replenish their supplies," said Ward. "I welcome anyone
who knits, crochets, or is interested in learning to come in and check out the store."
About the store’s name, Ward explains, "I used to work for the Federal Bureau of Investigation.
While at the FBI, I learned that the business world can be cutthroat. I wanted my business’
name to be fun, but also make people ask why, and I've succeeded in doing just that."
Cutthroat Yarn is open Tuesday through Friday from 10am to 8pm, Saturdays from 10am to
7pm, and Sundays from 12pm to 6pm. For more information, visit www.cutthroatyarn.com.
