HomeMy Public PortalAboutOrd. 1525;r r ORDINANCE NO. 1525 A ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LYNWOOD APPROVING ZONE CHANGE NO. 2002 -04, CHANGING THE ZONING FROM C -2 (LIGHT COMMERCIAL) TO R -3 (MULTIPLE - FAMILY RESIDENTIAL), ON PROPERTY LOCATED AT 3320 MARTIN LUTHER KING JR. BOULEVARD, FURTHER DESCRIBED AS ASSESSOR PARCEL NUMBERS 6191- 001 -008, TRACT 2794, LOT .19, CITY OF LYNWOOD, CALIFORNIA. WHEREAS, the Lynwood City Council, pursuant to law, conducted a public hearing on Zone Change No. 2002 -04 on October 1, 2002; and WHEREAS, the Lynwood City Council carefully considered all public oral and written communication on the proposed zone change; and WHERAS, the Planning Commission of the City of Lynwood, pursuant to law, on September 10, 2002, approved Zone Change No. 2002 -04; and WHEREAS, the Lynwood City Council determines that an R -3 (multiple - family residential) zoning is appropriate as the existing land use on this property is apartments that would be consistent with the goals, policies and of the General Plan; and WHEREAS, the Community Development Department has determined that the proposal is categorically exempt from the California Environmental Quality Act; (CEQA) as amended pursuant to Sections 15303(b) and 15332. NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LYNWOOD DOES HEREBY ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. The City Council of the City of Lynwood hereby finds and determines as follows: A. An R -3 (Multiple - Family Residential) zoning of this property would be consistent with existing development and compatible with surrounding land uses and development in the vicinity. B. The project plans demonstrate that the development will satisfy all required development standards except for a parking variance. C. The R -3 zoning will be consistent with goals and policies set forth in the Lynwood General Plan. D. The R -3 zoning designation will not be detrimental to the properties surrounding the site and would not negatively impact the public health, safety, or general welfare. Section 2. The City Council of the City of Lynwood, based upon the aforementioned findings and determinations, hereby approves Zone Change No. 2002 -04 changing the zoning designation for this property from C -2 (Light Commercial) to R -3 (Multiple - Family Residential). The City Clerk of the City of Lynwood is hereby directed to certify to the passage and adoption of this Ordinance and to cause it to be published or posted as required by law. First read at a regular meeting of the City Council held on the 1st day of October , 2002 and adopted and ordered published at a regular meeting of said Council on the 15th day of October , 2002.
