Mayor Briggs called the adjourned meeting of the City Council to order at 7:30 P. M. 2. ROLL CALL: PRESENT: Councilmen - Beckley, Harker, Merritt, Tyrell, Briggs ALSO PRESENT: City Manager Koski, Asst. City Mgr. Recupero, Public Works Director Pizzorno, Recreation Director Kobett 3. JOINT MEETING WITH THE PARKS & RECREATION COMMISSION: A discussion was held on the recommendations of the Parks & Re- creation Commission deferred from the regular meeting of the Council on June 18th with action as follows: Item A. 1. Air - conditioning of existing buildings at Live Oak Park: $10,000. was approved for air conditioning to include suspended ceiling with new lighting fixtures in the large meeting room at Live Oak Park facilities. 2. Cover Patio. 3. Improve interior and exterior of buildings to include new drapes, improve indoor lighting, install wood flooring in large room, provide enclosed storage area in patio area, repaint buildings inside and out, repair heat thermostats and replace windows in Craft Room. 4. Resurface and light hardcourt area: i.e. basketball/ playground apparatus area. On #2, #3, and #4, the City Council requested further investigation and cost estimates be prepared on the three foregoing items, to be submitted with the re- commendations of the Parks & Recreation Commission at an early date. Item B. Acquisition of additional land for park use. C. Proposed Community Building at Live Oak Park: Recommend no new buildings be built at Live Oak Park at this time but should be considered for other areas. The Council took under advisement the recommendations in Items B and C. 4. JOINT MEETING WITH TRAFFIC COMMISSION: A joint meeting was held with the Traffic Commission for purposes of discussion pertaining to budget proposals for 1968 -69 re Account #3000 -Law Enforcement, #3100- Traffic Commission and #5000 - Street Construction, Traffic Signals and Sidewalks. 5. The City Council approved the renewal of the contract With Bates & Diehl for the 1968 -69 fiscal year and authorized costs at the rate of $500. per month. 6. CITY INSURANCE: The City Council accepted the bid from Carl L. Clark Insurance Co., as the low bidder in the sum of $4695.44 for the insurance coverage for the City of Temple City for a three year period commencing July 1, 1968. "U 1 1 Adjourned Meeting, Ju 19, 1968, page 2 7. 1968 -69 BUDGET FOR THE CITY FOR THE FISCAL YEAR: City Manager Koski presented the budget for the 1968 -69 fiscal year to the Council and read title to Resolution No. 68 -831 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF TEMPLE CITY ADOPTING THE CITY BUDGET FOR THE FISCAL YEAR 1968 -69 in the total amount of $1,318,475. Councilman Tyrell moved to adopt Resolution No. 68 -831, Council- man Beckley seconded, and the motion was unanimously carried. ADJOURNMENT: The City Council adjourned at 10:30 P. M. to the regular meeting of the City Council on July 2, 1968, at 7:30 P. M. in the Council Chambers of the City Hall, 5938 Kauffman Ave., Temple City. ATTEST: City C er
