ORDINANCE NO. 1483
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF LYNWOOD
AMENDING CHAPTER 9-2 OF THE LYNWOOD
MUNICIPAL CODE ADOPTING BY REFERENCE LOS
ANGELES COUNTY ORDINANCE NO. 97-0071
AMENDING THE COUNTY HEALTH CODE RELATING
TO FOOD ESTABLISIIMENTS AND DECLARING THE
URGENCY THEREOF.
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LYNWOOD DOES ORDAIN AS
FOLLOWS:
Section 1. Section 9-2. l .c of the Lynwood Municipal code is amended as follows,
adding number 11 to the list of adopted County Ordinances amending the Health Code:
11. 97-0071.
Section 2. It is essential the City have in effect Health Codes that conform with
the County of Los Angeles Health Code to insure participation in the County wide
restaurant grading program. The addition to the County Health Code contains provisions
regarding increased standards for Food Service Establishments. In the absence of
immediate effectiveness, the provisions of the County Health Code for food
establishments will not be in place, and this will have a detrimental effect on the public
health, safety and welfare. For this reason, this ordinance is an urgency ordinance
necessary for the immediate preservation of the public peace, health and safety.
Therefore this ordinance takes effect immediately.
Section 3. This Ordinance is effective upon adoption and becomes operative on
April 27, 1998.
Section 4. The City Clerk is directed to certify to the passage of this Ordinance
and to cause it to be published or posted as required by law.
