ORDINANCE NO. 1484
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF LYNWOOD
AMENDING SECTION 25 -4.8 c. OF CHAPTER
25 OF THE LYNWOOD MUNICIPAL CODE TO
REDUCE THE MINIMUM AREA FOR INCLUSION
IN A PRD ZONE FOR PROPERTY DESIGNATED
MULTI - FAMILY RESIDENTIAL IN THE CITY
GENERAL PLAN
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LYNWOOD DOES HEREBY FIND AND
ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1 . The City of Lynwood wishes to provide a variety
of methods for developing residential subdivisions within the
City. Current ordinance provisions restrict the use of flexible
PRD zoning to properties of one acre or greater. Such restriction
act to discourage innovative development and marketing of
residential property.
The City Council has determined that applying PRD zoning to
parcels as small as 14,000 sq. ft. should be permitted when the
property is located in a multi - family designation in the City
General Plan.
Section 2 Section 25 -4.8 c of Chapter 25 of the Lynwood
Municipal Code is hereby amended to read as follows:
C. Minimum Area. Minimum area for inclusion in a P -R -D
Zone shall be one (1) acre, for property designated single family
and Townhouse and Cluster Housing on the General Plan and 14,000
sq. ft. for property designated Multi - Family Residential, except
that sites with lesser area may be permitted when they are
contiguous to an existing planned residential development and
allow for a logical extension in arrangement of buildings,
facilities and open space.
Section 3_ The City Clerk is directed to certify to the
passage and adoption of this ordinance and to cause the same to
published or posted as required by law.
First read at a regular meeting of the City Council of said City held on
the 7th day of April, 1999, and finally ordered published at a regular meeting
of said Council held on the 21st day of April, 1998.
