A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LYNWOOD,
CALIFORNIA, AUTORIZING STAFF TO ISSUE A REQUEST FOR
PROPOSALS FOR CONSULTING ENGINEERING SERVICES
WHEREAS, the Capital Improvement Program for Fiscal Year 2008-09
carries over $9 million of street improvement projects and $6 million of
water/sewer improvements projects (see attachment A); and
WHEREAS, a number of these projects are subject to strict expenditure
deadlines; and
WHEREAS, staff has determined that additional engineering resources
are needed to meet the project deadlines; and
WHEREAS, said additional resources can be accomplished through the
use of engineering consultant project management services; and
WHEREAS, the cost for project management services is estimated at 5-
7% of the construction budget.
NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Lynwood does hereby
find, proclaim, order and resolve as follows:
Section 1. That the City Council of the City of Lynwood approves the
issuance of a Request for Proposals for engineering consulting services in order
to provide the needed project management services.
Section 2. This resolution shall go into effect immediately upon its
adoption.
Section 3. The City Clerk shall certify as to the adoption of this
Resolution.
