“Beekman Boys” Books on Sale Now in Preparation for
Leesburg Flower and Garden Festival Presentation
Leesburg, VA (April 14, 2014) – What’s the first thing
you need for a book signing? Books, of course!
The 24th Annual Flower and Garden Festival will feature
a guest presentation and book signing by Josh Kilmer-
Purcell and Dr. Brent Ridge, better known as “The
Fabulous Beekman Boys.” In preparation for this
program, three “Beekman” books are currently on sale
now at Ida Lee Park Recreation Center (60 Ida Lee Drive
NW, Leesburg, Virginia). Limited quantities of these
popular books will be available through Friday, April 25,
2014. Remaining books will be on sale at the festival.
The three titles available are:
• The Beekman 1802 Heirloom Cookbook:
Heirloom fruits and vegetables, and more than
100 heritage recipes to inspire every generation
• Beekman 1802 Heirloom Desserts Cookbook: 100 delicious heritage recipes from the
farm and garden
• The Bucolic Plague: How Two Manhattanites Became Gentlemen Farmers, An
Unconventional Memoir
Sponsored by Leesburg Today, the Beekman Boys will begin their presentation at 2pm on
Sunday, April 27, 2014, on the new festival stage located just off King Street. Kilmer-Purcell and
Ridge’s “Living an Heirloom Life” presentation will highlight the efforts involved in heirloom
gardening, eating seasonally, and the value behind both. The Beekman Boys’ presentation will
be free to all festival guests, but seating will be limited and early arrival is suggested. Following
the presentation, a complimentary book signing will be offered. For more information about
