Message From the Fire Chief I'm sad to announce that Riverdale Fire Department Captain and Riverdale resident Adrian Castillo will soon be leaving us to take a position at a Fire Department in his home state of Texas. In the 6 years, he has been a member of this department, Captain Castillo has been a significant asset to our community and to our Fire Department. As a member of our Fire Department, Adrian has built a strong reputation of professionalism and has responded to more emergency calls than most any other firefighters. In addition, he has obtained many advanced fire and EMS certifications including EMT, Firefighter 1 and 2, Fire Officer 1, Fire inspector 1, and several Technical Rescue specialties. Captain Castillo has used his advanced skills to further our Fire Department training, passing on many of the skills he has gained. Adrian has also participated in many interdepartmental competitions and water fights, notably finishing second in the annual Coralville Winter Water Fights, which is considered one of the area’s most prestigious, drawing Fire Departments from across Iowa as well as from other nearby states. Riverdale Fire Department Captain Adrian Castillo will be sorely missed. Chris Bernard
