VOTE FOR US! Riverdale’s Meals-To-Go Program was
nominated for the All-Star Community Award by the
Iowa League of Cities. Voting begins August 16th and
you can participate by visiting the League’s Facebook
page and vote by liking your favorite City project in the
People All-Star Album. This is a fun contest for
community pride, but there are no prizes. It is a bracketed
competition, and our first competitor is the smaller town
of Pierson, IA (pop 366). The address below is to vote.

✓ Road Construction ALERT! Iowa American and the City
of Riverdale have finally awarded the Fenno Road
reconstruction contract. The contract will allow for the
replacement of sanitary sewer, water, storm sewer, curb
and gutter, and full depth asphalt replacement.
Construction is scheduled to start the week of August 23rd.
✓ The Sanitary Sewer relining project is a joint project
between the City of Riverdale and the City of Panorama
Park. This project also includes fixing the erosion problem
on the westside of Manor Drive Hill. The purpose of this
project is to eliminate Inflow and Infiltration. It will start
in September and end in December.
✓ The emergency access route between Pleasant Hills and
the Woods Subdivision 3rd Addition will stay towards the
Eastside of Bicentennial Park, close to the existing field
access road. Stay tuned for further updates regarding this
project.
✓ The City recently contracted with MSA-PS to design the
Parking Lots at City Hall and the Fire Station. The City
plans to re-design the City Hall lot to improve the
Handicapped Accessibility of City Hall and improve
drainage as well as insure the structural capabilities can
handle our Emergency Equipment.
Waste Collection is provided every
Monday, unless Monday is a
holiday. Holidays will cause a one-
day delay in service. Yard waste
collection is provided weekly from
April 5-November 29.

Park Plan
In 2020 the City was able to
complete the Park Plan. The
plan is available on our website.
It was an attempt to prioritize
our goals for park
improvements.

The City of Riverdale has been appropriated $64,825.29 for the American Rescue Plan
Act. This money can be used for COVID related expenses and infrastructure projects related
to water and sanitary sewer.
Election papers for Mayor and Council are available for pick up at City Hall.
The contract has been awarded for the removal of the dangerous trees
located on Manor Drive. The work will be completed by August 12th.
