AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LYNWOOD,
CALIFORNIA, ADDING SECTION 3-12.17 OF THE LYNWOOD
MUNICIPAL CODE RELATING TO BOOM BOXES
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LYNWOOD, CALIFORNIA, DOES
ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1: Section 3-12.17 is hereby added to the Lynwood
Municipal Code to read as follows:
3-12.17 Boom Boxes
a. Use restricted. It shall be unlawful for any person to
play music on a "boom box" at a location closer than fifty (50)
feet outside of the property line of any residential property
located within the city at any time of night or day in a manner
which would be unreasonably loud to a reasonable person of normal
sensitivity.
b. Definition. A "boom box" shall be defined for purposes
of this section as any radio, cassette player, compact disk
player or similar device with stereo speakers.
SECTION 2: The City Clerk shall certify to the passage of
this ordinance and shall cause same to be published once in the
Lynwood press within fifteen days after its passage and said
ordinance shall become effective thirty (30) days after its
passage.
