Everything We Do
We may not always realize that everything we do
affects not only our lives but touches others, too.
A single happy smile can always brighten up the
day
for anyone who happens to be passing by your
way.
And a little bit of thoughtfulness that shows
someone you care
creates a ray of sunshine for both of you to share.
Yes, every time you offer someone a helping
hand,
every time you show a friend you understand,
every time you have a kind and gentle word to
give,
you help someone to find the beauty in this
precious life we live.
For happiness brings happiness and loving ways
bring love,
and giving is the treasure that contentment is
made of.

Every small community has those individuals that always stand ready to volunteer
helping the community to a better quality of life. Riverdale is no exception.
SONYA PADDOCK, outgoing Mayor, moved to Riverdale in 2002 and has been
a volunteer in Riverdale for several years serving as its Mayor for two terms. Prior to
being elected Mayor, she served on the Council for two years. Sonya also volunteered
on the Riverdale Fire Department since 2011 as did her spouse Don. Sonya has
written and received grants for several thousand dollars for the Fire Department and
City. Sonya chaired the Riverdale 4th of July Celebration and has volunteered during
the 4th of July festivities for many years along with all the many other events and
activities of Riverdale.
LINDA HUPP is another Riverdale resident that has volunteered for over
seventeen years. Linda was elected to the Council in 2008 serving through 2017.
Linda wrote several grants to enhance our City Parks and is affectionately known by
staff as our “tree lady”. Linda was always available for any project when asked and
served on many of the special committees and Special Events of Riverdale throughout
the years and has been a loyal and appreciated resident of Riverdale.
GEORGE SEABERG served on the Council for the last four years. George was
a Riverdale Firefighter for two years and served on the Board of Adjustment from
2006 to 2012. George volunteered for the 4th of July Celebration including chairing
the Basketball Free Throw Contest. George served on many other committees
throughout his residence in Riverdale since 1972.
The Riverdale community wishes to thank these individuals for the many hours they
have given to the City and wish them well in all their future endeavors.
