McCarty Street Commission Members Present _ Attendance Record Art Hernandez 5 of 6 Jane Moore 5 of 6 Bill Case 6 of 6 Bill Gerling 4 of 4 Terri Rademan 5 of 6 Mary Schantz 5 of 6 Commission Members Absent Sarah Hoeller 4 of 6 Doug Record 4 of 6 Council Liaison Present Laura Ward Staff Present Jayme Abbott, Neighborhood Services Manager Guests Janet Maurer, HCJ Paul Samson, CMPS Call to Order Chair Art Hernandez called the meeting to order at 6:15 p.m. Approval of Agenda Bill Case moved the agenda be approved as printed. Mary Schantz seconded the motion. Motion passed. Approval of Minutes Mary Schantz moved the minutes from the April 11th Regular Meeting be accepted. Bill Case seconded. Motion passed. Demolition Application a. 816, 820 & 824 Southwest Blvd – Joe Machens Ford submitted the application for the purpose of moving their used car lot to the proposed demolition area and then construct a new building near Wears Creek. Only two structures were older than 50 years old. Bill Case moved that “no historic properties were affected” and the demolition application is recommended for approval by this commission. Mary Schantz seconded the motion. Motion passed. New Business a. Art Hernandez mentioned that he has been contacted by some Realtors with questions on the proposed demolition ordinance. Other Business a. Art Hernandez announced that Kevin Kelly resigned from the commission. A new member has been suggested based on Certified Local Government Criteria. The suggested member will be on the next Administrative Committee meeting, then moves on to the Council Agenda. Dates to Remember a. Next regular meeting June 13, 2017 at 6:00 p.m. b. Heritage Week Ceremony, May 16, 2017 at 4:00 p.m. c. Council Work Session, May 22, 2017 at 5:30 p.m. Adjournment Mary Schantz moved the meeting adjourn. Art Hernandez seconded. Motion carried. Meeting adjourned at 6:33 p.m.
