Mary Schantz seconded the motion. Motion passed. Approval of Minutes Jane Moore moved the minutes from the October 10, 2017 Regular Meeting be accepted. Bill Case seconded. Motion passed. Old Business Demolition Ordinance – Eric Barron presented the most current version of the Demolition Ordinance. Bill Case Moved to approve the proposed demolition ordinance revision as presented by city staff. Steve Hoffman seconded. Mary Schantz proposed an amendment to the motion to change Section 8-43 Part B Number 2 Subsection A to read Applications to demolish or remove a structure greater than 75 years old. Doug Record seconded the motion. Motion failed. Jane Moore proposed an amendment to the motion to change Section 8-43 Part B Number 2 Subsection A to read Applications to demolish or remove a structure greater than 50 years old. Steve Hoffman seconded the motion. Motion passed. Mary Schantz voted no. Art Hernandez proposed an amendment to the motion to follow the Planning and Zoning Commission’s November 9, 2017 recommendation in regards to penalty. Steve Hoffman seconded the motion. Motion passed Doug Record then seconded the original motion be approved with amendments. Motion passed. Demolition Applications a. 310 Case; 310 Union; 1102 Monroe; 1104 Monroe; 1106 Monroe; and 1108 Monroe. Doug Record moved to change the standard procedure to vote on these demolition applications as a whole. Jane Moore seconded. Motion passed. Steve Hoffman and Art Hernandez voted no. Jayme Abbott provided information on the property. In reviewing Section 8-44 C, Criteria for Nomination, the structure does not appear to hold any significance in terms of heritage, culturally or architecturally. Doug Record moved that there will be “no historic properties affected” by the demolition and the permit be recommended for approval by this commission. Section 106 Reviews a. 1212 W High St. – Jayme Abbott presented information on the property. Mary Schantz moved that there will be “no historic properties affected” by the project is approved by this commission. Doug Record seconded the motion. Motion passed. b. 301 Pierce – Jayme Abbott presented information on the property. Mary Schantz moved that there will be “no historic properties affected” by the project is approved by this commission. Steve Hoffman seconded the motion. Motion passed. c. 616 E Capitol – Jayme Abbott presented information on the property. Jane Moore moved that there will be “no historic properties affected” by the project is approved by this commission. Mary Schantz seconded the motion. Motion passed. d. 1202 Jobe Dr – Jayme Abbott presented information on the property. Jane Moore moved that there will be “no historic properties affected” by the project is approved by this commission. Doug Record seconded the motion. Motion passed. New Business Doug Record moved that the 2018 Calendar that was presented by staff be adopted. Steve Hoffman seconded. Motion passed. Dates to Remember December 18th – The proposed demolition ordinance will be introduced to City Council. January 2nd – City Council will hold a public hearing on the proposed demolition ordinance. Adjournment Bill Case moved the meeting adjourn. Art Hernandez seconded. Motion carried. Meeting adjourned at 7:37 p.m.
