A special meeting of the Council. uf Bai Harbour Vill
was held Londay, April 17, 1961 fur the puipcse of inducting the
members into office.

Present were: liessrs. BuatLy, Bruemar., Faulkner and Mart.
Absent: r. 'White
Also present were W. H. eub, Village L.anager; and ,iary
T. etterei, ✓illagu rk.
;layor kart asked nr. Jim Ruby whL appeared tc appeal in
behalf cf the separate county fom the iaisi Be.lcF area tc explain his
request to the members. lir. Ruby outlined the boundaries for the new
county and asked Sal Harbour to pass a Resolution urging the Legis—
lature to create such a ccunty. After discussion it was moved by
6':r. Beatty, seconded by ;.r. Faulkner, and unanimously voted that Pr.
Anderson and lir. Webb be authorized to prepare a i:esolution for tction
at the regular meeting to be held April 22, 1961 urging the State
Legislature to creme a new county fur the Piami Beach area during
U;c current session.
Lr. r'aul Laddeo of the Americana hotel then requested
the Council to permit them to use the garage area as an exhibiticn
room for the two medical conventions tc take place beginning :',ay 1,
god f.'ay 4, 1Y)1. motion of Mr. Breer:an, seconded by lir. Faulkner
and unanimously voted the request was approved.
r. madden then stated that he would like to express
the appreciation of the Americana ;Tana Je.vuut and staff for the ez—
cellent handling of the fire in the lower lobby last week by the
Village Fire Department.
