HomeMy Public PortalAboutGAC Minutes 2004 03/10GOLF COURSE ADVISORY COMMITTEE MINUTES March 10, 2004 Attending: Hank McCauley Judy VanKomen Bill Robertson Bob Giles Marc Rhoades Staff members: Dan Pillard, Director of Golf Operations Allan Morrison, Golf Professional Staff Reports: Dan Pillard reported the golf course came through the winter well with minimal damage and snow mold on the aspen and birch greens. The golf crew is busy dleaningebris, vole damage and preparing for the opening of the course. Dan mentioned than e should open the cedar course by May 7th. New Business: Bill Robertson presented an operations plan from the Golf Management Committee to Golf Course Advisory Committee. Mr. Robertson pointed out to the committee that the City Council feels the golf course is very important to the community, a major asset providing improvement to this town. Mr. Robertson pointed out that the Goff Management Committee would be the acting management for the golf operation. k*.. mentioned the committee consists of five members, Bonnie Bertram, Bill Robertson, Robert Strope, Allan Morrison, and Dan Pillard. Hank McCauley requested an update on the golf proposals from Allan Morrison and Dan Pillard and asked if they were dead or still alive. Bill Robertson commented they were dead and the golf management committee will manage the golf course. Marc Rhoades and Hank McCauley asked what the role of the GCAC would have in the future. They mentioned in the past the GCAC played an active role in decisions, such as; GC operational items, hiring of goff contractors and what would the committee be advising on. Bill Robertson mentioned the GCAC would play an active role on advising City Council on policy issues as well as meeting with the Golf Management Committee to provide input on operational issues. Old Business: The committee discussed the mower fund tournament and how to demonstrate the equipment purchased.
