ORDINANCE NO. 1331
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF LYNWOOD, CALIFORNIA, AMENDING
SECTION 1-8 OF THE CODE OF THE CZTY OF
LYNWOOD RELATING TO PENALTIES
~ THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LYNWOOD DOES ORDAIN
AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1: Section 1-8 of the Code of the City of
~ Lynwood is hereby amended to read as follows:
1-8 GENERAL PENALTY; CONTINUING VIOLATIONS.
(a) Any person violating or failing to comply with
any provision or mandatory requirement of this
code shall be guilty of a misdemeanor; unless
charged as an infraction by the enforcement
officer in the complaint filed in court.
(b) Every violation of this Code determined to be a
misdemeanor is punishable by a fine of not more
than one thousand dollars ($1,000.00), or by
imprisonment for a period of not more than six
months, or by both such fine and imprisonment.
(c) Every violation of the Code determined to be an
infraction is punishable by:
1. a fine not exceeding fifty dollars ($50.00)
for a first violation.
2. a fine not exceeding one hundred dollars
($100.00) for a second violation of the
same provision within 12 calendar months;
and
3. a fine not exceeding two hundred fifty
dollars ($250.00) for each additional
violation of the same provision with 12
calendar months.
(d) Each person guilty of a misdemeanor or
infraction shall be guilty of a separate offense
for each and every day during any portion of
which any violation of any provision of this
Code is committed, continued or permitted by
such person and shall be punished accordingly.
(e) In addition to the penalties herein provided,
any condition caused or permitted to exist in.
violation of any provision of this Code shall be
deemed a public nuisance and may be abated as
such in any manner authorized by law.
SECTION 2: The city clerk shall certify to the
passage and adoption of this ordinance and cause the same to be

published in the manner prescribed by law.
