HomeMy Public PortalAboutCable Television Advisory -- 2014-07-16 Minutes q .S Brewster Cable TV Advisory Committee - " Minutes of the Wednesday July 16,2014 meeting E;REii STER TOWN C:_ER. 5:00 pm in Meeting Room B,Brewster Town Hall This regular meeting was called to order at 5:01 pm by Larry Greeley,Chair. Members present: Larry Greeley,Janet Husband,Walter Powers and Zeb Barker. Non-members present: Video Services Coordinator James Paul Ludwig. A draft of the Minutes of the May 21,2014 meeting was read by Janet. Larry moved and Walter seconded the motion to accept the minutes. Vote: 3 yes, 0 no, 1 abstention. The motion passed. Janet distributed copies of the April 16,2014 meeting minutes. Larry introduced the new member of the BCTVAC,Zeb Barker,who comes to the committee with technical expertise. He is the Chief Technical Officer of the Secure Networks company in Hyannis. Larry explained that Attorney Bill Solomon was unable to attend this meeting to discuss the contract between Brewster and LCCAT. A tentative date of July 30,2014 was set for the meeting with Bill. James Paul broke the news that Larry was elected President of LCCAT. Tom Cole is Vice-President and Kate Crouse is the Treasurer. Recent resignations have reduced the board to 7 members. James Paul has been troubleshooting for LCCAT. He expressed his optimism that the organization is now ready to move forward. James Paul highlighted several items in his report: He feels that he needs to replace the SX video server and the Carousel EBB interface due to the fact that Microsoft is no longer supporting Windows XP. He estimates cost at&15,000 and will get firm bids. Action on the proposed lighting upgrade for town Hall's meeting rooms has been delayed for now. As discussed at our Dec.4,2013 meeting,the Cape Light Compact would pay a percentage of the cost of the project. The Earth Channel reporting abilities show that the most watched meetings on Video on Demand were the Selectmen's meetings. The second most watched were the Conservation Committee meetings. He is also pleased that Brewster's Facebook page is getting more attention,as are his postings on Twitter,especially his reporting on the results of the recent town election. The next regular meeting of the committee was set for Wed.,August 13 at 5:00 pm. Janet moved and Walter seconded a motion to adjourn. Vote:4 yes,0 no, 0 abstentions. The motion passed.
