HomeMy Public PortalAbout072-2002 - Grant - Governor's Council on Impaired & Dangerous Driving - Operation Pullover ORDINANCE NO- 72- 2002 AN APPROPRIATION ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE SUBMITTAL, ACCEPTANCE, AND APPROPRIATION OF A GRANT FROM THE GOVERNOR’S COUNCIL ON IMPAIRED & DANGEROUS DRIVING OPERATION PULL OVER PROGRAM WHEREAS, The Governor’s Council on Impaired & Dangerous Driving Operation Pull Over Program has grant funding available; and WHEREAS, the City of Richmond Police Department desires to submit a grant application to pay overtime to off duty officers for pull-over blitzes to enforce seatbelt usage; and WHEREAS, no local match is required for this grant. NOW, THEREFORE, be it ordained by the Common Council of the City of Richmond, Indiana, as follows: 1. The City of Richmond Police Department is hereby authorized to submit a grant application to the Governor’s Council on Impaired & Dangerous Driving Operation Pull Over Program to pay overtime to off duty officers for pull over blitzes to enforce seatbelt usage. 2. The City of Richmond Police Department is authorized to accept said grant funding in an amount up to Seventeen Thousand Six Hundred Five Dollars and Eighty Cents ($17,605.80). 3. Said funds, if awarded to the City of Richmond Police Department, shall be appropriated to pay overtime to off duty officers for pull over blitzes to enforce seatbelt usage.
