Solid Waste Management Division Section 1125.1
1125.1 SUBJECT: ORGANIZATION AND POLICY
:1 OBJECTIVE:
Collect, and transport all solid waste collected by the City, and the recovery of solid
waste resources within the City; enforce regulations concerned with collection and
transporting of solid waste material, and resource recovery material.
:2 AUTHORITY:
This procedure amended by City Council April 19, 2004, Item A1.
:3 DIRECTION:
Division Manager, as an appointed official, serves at the pleasure of the Mayor,
receiving direction from the Environmental Services Director.
:4 FUNCTIONS:
A. Collects, and transports all solid waste generated within the City except that
which is collected by franchisees.
B. Collects, and transports resource recovery (recyclable) materials within the City.
C. Monitors the operation of all franchisees (recyclable material and contracted roll
on/roll off services).
D. Inspects and enforces regulations controlling collection/transporting of solid
waste, and resource recovery (recycling) operations.
E. Responsible for the proper assessment and collection of service charges to all
users of these services.
