ORDINANCE N0, 1216
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
LYNWOOD AMENDING CHAPTER 25 OF THE LYNWOOD MUNICIPAL
CODE, "ZONING", PERTAINING TO TANDEM PARKING WITHIN
RESIDENTIAL CONDOMINIUM DEVELOPMENTS.
The City Council of the City of Lynwood DOES HEREBY ORDAIN
as follows:
Section 1. Section 25-5.3 of the Lynwood Municipal Code is
hereby deleted in its entirety,
Section 2. Sections 25-5.3c is hereby added to read as follows:
"C. Off-Street Parking.
1. Spaces Assigned to Units. There shall be one (1)
covered parking space and one (1) uncovered parking
space assigned to each condominium unit within the
project.
2. Spaces. Designated for Visitors. There shall be at least.
one (1) uncovered visitor parking space for each ten (10)
units within the project.
3. Compact Automobile Spaces, Smaller parking spaces for
compact automobiles may be permitted for up to thirty
percent (30%) of the required visitor spaces for develop-
ments which contain at least ten (10) parking spaces.
Open .compact parking spaces shall be seven and one-
half feet (7'~') wide and fifteen feet (15') deep. The
open compact spaces must be prominently labelled as such.
4. Tandem Parking. Tandem parking may be permitted within
the project provided the following conditions exist:
a. Landscaped open space comprises at least thirty-
five percent (35%) of the site;
b. Tandem spaces are not shared by different units;
c. Access to the tandem parking is not directly from
a street or alley",
Section 3. Severability, If any section, subsection, subdi-
vision, sentence, clause, phrase or portion of this ordinance or the
application thereof to any person or place, is for any reason held to be
invalid or unconstitutional by the decision of any court or compe-
tent jurisdiction, such decision shall not affect the validity of the
remaining portions,.of this ordinance or its application to other persons
or places. The City Council hereby declares that it would have adopted
this ordinance, and each section thereof, irrespective of the fact that
any one or more section, subsection, sentence, clause, phrase, or-portion,
or the application thereof to any person or place, be declared invalid
or unconstitutional,
Section 4. The City Clerk is hereby ordered and directed to
certify to the passage of this ordinance and to cause the same to be
published once in the Lynwood Press, a newspaper of general circulation,
printed, published, and circulated~in the City of Lynwood.
